January 8th, 2010: The Packing..The Party...The Snow...

Alright folks I'm gonna intro this blog by slapping on an R-rating. Yup, as most of you know my best material comes in my vulgarity and, let's face it, we're gonna encounter some of the best red neckedness this country has to offer and I don't want to limit your entertainment by sensoring myself right off the bat. So let's get going. What's this blog about: this is a heroing story of two fools driving 5000 miles across trecherous plains, mountains and tundra in the middle of the winter from Vermont to Alaska in an effort to ellude this shit economy to find work and a better more adventurous life. So with the help of amazing freinds and family we are well on our way. Thanks all!! The short term goal: depart this Monday the 10th. The even shorter term goal, get drunk with some great friends later while we load this Kansas/Oregon based UHaul (huh?) on the back of our brand spankin new GMC truck with Alaska plates HOLLER!!! So what was the deciding factor in writing this blog: well it's been pretty clear weather, dry roads and even grass showing through for a couple weeks and then I woke up this morning...to a foot of snow. I thought to myself "These are the kind of hilarious inconveniences we're gonna run into this whole trip and I'm gonna want to make light of these situations and keep us strong and focused. Otherwise we'll lose our shit in the first 1000 miles." So that's the intro. Check out some pics below from the packing today and the passing on of the old Chevy.
