Teton National Park / Jackson, Wyoming

We had another cold night with lots of Elk all over the camp really is special hearing the mating calls.  I had picked up a fishing license and grabbed my fly rod to try to cross off another fish off my life list.  It was a glorious morning on a beautiful wild river but the yellowstone cutthroat trout eluded my efforts.

We left the park and headed to a secret Hot Springs.  We had to hike a mile and wade across a river.
Turned out these hot springs were not ideal for a dip...they were super hot!!!
Plus there was a lot of algae
But we dipped our feet in and enjoyed a wonderful spot in the Wyoming backcountry.

The fires had sent so much smoke to Teton National Park we could barley see the mountains.  This is actually the spot of the famous Ansel Adams photo of the Tetons and the Snake River.
In the Town of Jackson they have these huge archways built with Elk Antlers.  The Elk migrate to a refuge outside of town every winter and shed their antlers there.
As much time as I have spent in this town over the years it always makes me excited to explore and love all over again.
 Million Dollar Cowboy Bar
Yes, the seats are saddles and the bar is inlaid with silver dollars from 1921
 Giddy Up!

Snake River Brewery.  Needless to say we had some fun and the hours got away from us.  We ended up grabbing a hotel and spending the night in town.
