Moving / Fair / Drive (Wasilla to Dawson City, Yukon)

 Packing up our little house.

Amanda had a few shifts tending bar at the state fair.  so we moved onto the fairgrounds and officially became "Carnies"

After some crazy weather we finally hit the road

 Matanuska Glacier
Tek riding shotgun in the subaru
Campsite on the first night outside of Tok, AK

So after looking at the map we found out it was only 100 extra miles to head north to Dawson City, Yukon so we could try the sourtoe cocktail that has eluded us for 1.5 years

Town of Chicken.  A gold mining town that wanted to be named ptarmigan but they could not spell it.
However, the "Top of the World Highway" was dirt and slow going

 It was amazing

We had to take a ferry across the mighty Yukon river.
Dawson City is like an old cowboy town.  All the sidewalks are wood and the saloons are rowdy

Here is a pic of the "Sour Toe" (a frostbite toe).  We have to wait til 9pm to "sample" the drink and let the toe touch our lips.  Guess we are staying in Dawson City tonight.

lastly, we just heard that my cousin Sheila and Mark had their first baby: Herman Samuel.  so excited to meet him and see Aunt Lynn be a grandmother.
