Mesa Verde National Park / Durango, CO

 Southwest Colorado is cool

Cliff Palace - there are over 200 cliff dwellings in Mesa Verde but most are only 3-5 rooms.  Cliff Palace is over 100 rooms and was built in 1100-1200 a.d.

Kiva - communal fire place, the cool air would be drawn in from the vent, then the slab would direct the air around the fire.  pretty cool.

Mesa Verde is at 7,000 feet above sea level.

We then headed into Durango.  What an neat little town.  4 Breweries, Art Festival, Farmers Market

This sampler included a beer called Prescribed Burn it was brewed with jalapeño's and was a great beer.

 "another roadside attraction"
San Juan Mountains.
